Learning Experience in Nursing

The learning experience would be focused on simulation-based experiences and learning activities. This format promotes improvement strategies, especially in settings in which students are in the early stages of becoming better accustomed to nursing curriculums. The process includes the stages of mapping, evaluation, and revision. Such an approach is beneficial as it allows for enhanced interactive features that are adapted to the learning needs of nurses (Aul et al., 2021). An evaluation methodology focused on the assessment of competency learning can be administered. This would be sufficient for the selected teaching program as it addresses the performance in relation to learning objectives, competencies, skills, and attitudes of the students. Additionally, it assesses the abilities of nurses in regard to learned material, modes of service delivery, and utilization of relevant technology.

Nursing and general healthcare are involved in frequent changes and adaptation. As such, it is vital that education provides relevant and innovative learning experiences to the involved parties. Simulation allows nurses to interact with pedagogical innovations and more novel strategies in clinical and laboratory settings in a safe and effective environment. The use of intentional simulation-based learning programs contributes to the preparation of students for practical nursing experiences. The Assessment of Competency Learning would be vital in understanding the effects of simulation-based programs on the growth of nurses. The method assesses the ability of students in relation to their training material on an individual-by-individual basis. This evaluation method was selected as it addresses the intention of simulation-based learning most effectively, primarily the focus on gaining insight into clinical processes. As such, the three elements relevant to the approach include comprehension of theoretical knowledge, the ability to perform practical processes, and the capabilities of interacting with technology. As such, data may be collected from performance assessments of the students.

The ICN Code of Ethics should be consulted throughout the administration of the program. The majority of the experience would be centered on simulations and as such is focused on the welfare of the students and nurses and less so on the patients, which will be largely uninvolved. The statements regarding nurses and practice are relevant as they guide the responsibilities and rights nurses should be aware of in clinical settings. Following the collection of data after the conduct of the learning experiences, gaps and strengths of the experience can be determined. The knowledge of these factors can directly contribute to the improvement of the program or the simulations and provide improved experiences for any further learning.

Curriculum evaluation is fundamental to equipping nurses with adequate skills and knowledge to perform in the evolving industry of healthcare. As such, a systematic evaluation model would be integral to assessing the reach and quality of the program and learning experiences. Elements that must be analyzed include learning objectives, assignments, student activities, educational content, teaching, and evaluation methods. The education of the faculty is also fundamental to allowing students to acquire essential skills and understandings of their work. As such, all associated faculty must have access to necessary curriculum information, content, and devices. Because the experience is based on simulation,s faculty must have a substantial comprehension of the ways in which program learning outcomes have practical applications in real nursing settings. They must also be sufficiently equipped to administer evaluations and assessments of the programs and student performances throughout the interaction with the learning experience and after its conclusion.
