The most ubiquitous distributor of digital games for PC is the Steam Store created by Valve. The store offers a large game library consisting of over 30,000 titles for the customer to explore (Steam, n.d.). Therefore, when you think about PC gaming, Steam is the first thing that comes to mind. There is something for every gaming taste on the platform, with titles ranging from typical “online multiplayer shooters to farming simulators” (Clement, 2022). Steam is a unique platform due to the existence of an integrated community board that offers a wide range of game manuals and extensions.
In order to buy, download, and play games, Steam became a prerequisite for PC users. I often use both the website and software when I want to buy a new game or play those that I purchased, as it is also a platform for multiplayer games. As this platform has an extensive international community and offers both in-game and out-trading systems, I continue to use it.
Amazon is renowned worldwide for the wide range of products offered. The store could boast low prices and an easy-to-use interface to monitor prices and product specifications (Amazon, 2020). I use this website to purchase products for entertainment, such as board games, unique decorations, and small toys. I rarely use this store as the necessity to buy such products is rare and mostly impulsive. Nevertheless, the user-friendliness of the mobile application and website offered by the company makes sure to retain me as a customer of Amazon.
BestBuy is a multinational consumer electronics retailer that offers a wide range of tech products. I use this site to purchase phones, laptops, and practically any digital device that I require. I was attracted to this store due to the low price and workmanship guarantee on every repair. I use this platform regularly even if I do not want to purchase anything to monitor prices on electronics and plan a budget for future purchases. The low price tag and regular discounts affected my preference for the platform and I keep returning to it.
